I Ching Hexagram 7
The hexagram 7 of the I Ching, The Army, consists of Earth on the top and Water on the bottom. Water has a dangerous nature and is situated beneath the Earth. This hexagram depicts then the possibility of a sudden outbreak of flood. This can be understood as the power of an Army, which remains hidden in peace. The hexagram symbolizes, therefore, a strong power which must be seldom used. We must have a very good reason liberate it. It should also be noted that in order not to produce pure violence, this liberation should be controled by a strong discipline.
Quick guide for interpretation
We must keep a persevering and enthusiastic attitude towards a dangerous situation.
