I Ching Hexagram 45
The hexagram 45 of the I Ching, Reunion, consists of the Lake above the Earth. It reinforces the sense of hexagram 8, Solidarity, the Union. Reunion means a wider union because while the Water on Earth produces only small to mid-sized forms, the Lake on Earth is a greater union, solidly resting on its ground. Its decisive character is indicated by the hexagram’s line pattern, which results from the association of four yin lines with the two yang lines, at the fourth and fifth positions (and not just by a single line, as in hexagram 8). All these considerations indicate the powerful combination of forces that make up the hexagram Reunion, from the strength of the gathering involved in it to its constant need to take into account the dangers around.
Quick guide for interpretation
In a situation full of possibilities, we must renew our forces against the unexpected.
