I Ching Hexagram 42
The hexagram 42 of the I Ching, Increase, is the opposite of the preceding one, Decrease, 41. It results form of a modification of the hexagram Stagnation, 12, in which a solid yang line at the top moved to the lower trigram, resulting in the increase of its base. This small increase is very important as it corresponds to a decrease of what was in excess and was responsible for stagnation. This displacement produces a release of problems by a general harmonization obtained by returning to its source.
Quick guide for interpretation
