Traditional Reading of I Ching Hexagram 2, The Receptive |

I Ching Hexagram 2
The hexagram 2 of the I Ching, The Receptive, consists of six yin lines. The repetition of these lines indicates the force of a welcoming nature. The hexagram is then named The Receptive to indicate such a force that constitutes the counterpart to The Creative (hexagram 1). Another repetition strengthens this trait of character, that of the trigram The Receptive which has the Earth as image. Its repetition indicates Space in its continuation. This should not be conceived as an immaterial entity but as a generous territory, ready to accommodate whichever may arrive. The receptive is what makes development smooth and easy.
Quick guide for interpretation
Serenity is a force that welcomes what arrives by allowing it to be deployed according to itself.
