I Ching Hexagram 1
The hexagram 1 of the I Ching, The Creator, consists of six continuous lines. This repetition indicates the constancy of the creative yang force. Its highly creative character is also explained by a second repetition, that of the trigram The Creator. This trigram has the sky as image and, thus, its repetition indicates the passage of time. The creative strength of this hexagram is especially important because the force of time is a principle of transformation to which no other principle can oppose.
