I Ching Hexagram 17
The hexagram 17 of the I Ching, The Sequel, consists of the Lake over the Thunder. Joy is the attribute of the Lake, and the power to initiate is that of the Thunder. The hexagram symbolizes then a joyful movement, a spontaneity which rules out any recourse to force or trickery. The hexagram means Sequel for two related reasons. On one had because such spontaneous movement is communicative and creates its continuation. On the other hand, communication allows also for it to be followed by others.
