I Ching Hexagram 18
The hexagram 18 of the I Ching, Healing, consists of the Mountain over the Wind. The reverse order created by the Wind over the Mountain, as in hexagram 53, indicates a movement attuned to its place, as in the case of the Wind which embraces the geography of the Mountain. Here, however, movement is limited and the place is left abandoned since the Mountain is only visited by raids coming from its base which have no relationship to the possibilities on the hilltop. This image indicates that we must get rid of old habits to arrive at higher possibilities. One should free oneself from a lax attitude, which leaves things to their fate to begin to work to produce a general improvement.
Quick guide for interpretation
We must get rid of old habits which restrain development.
