I Ching Hexagram 54
The hexagram 54 of the I Ching, The Concumbine, consists of the Thunder over the Lake. These trigrams are to interpret from their role within the family. Thunder, whose main feature is to initiate movement, is the eldest son, the Lake, characterized by joy, is the youngest daughter. We have therefore the image of a concubine, of a young girl who happily follows the eldest son into his house. This image is not confined to traditional practices but to any form of association where the force is concentrated on a single pole which rules the other. In this case, we can do nothing but accept our position until the arrival of new possibilites.
Quick guide for interpretation
By acknowledging our dependent position we can learn to bear it and wait for new times to come.
