The lines that make up the hexagram 50 of the I Ching draw a cauldron. We see its feets at bottom, its body in the middle and the rings that allow to transport it at the top. This hexagram symbolizes the slow preparation of food by the melting of rich and diverse ingredients to nourish a wide group. However, the food at stake is primarily spiritual. The hexagram symbolize therefore the gradual preparation of culture. It produces higher goals which may refine society.
