I Ching Hexagram 36
The hexagram 36 of the I Ching, Darkening, is the inverse of the previous one (Progress, 35) because the Sun is hidden on Earth. It describes therefore a situation of extreme darkness in which there is no room for a clear understanding. However, the image of such a profound darkening also explains its transitory nature, as it is part of the order of things that it will be followed by a new sunrise.
Quick guide for interpretation
