I Ching Hexagram 20
The meaning of the hexagram 20 of the I Ching, The Contemplation, is explained by its form. As its four yin lines are crowned by two yang lines, it has the form of an ancient chinese tower. What is important in this hexagram is our ability to contemplate the situation as if we stood a the top of a tower, looking at the situation in its fullest extension. However, we must take into account that this point of observation is not outside the situation for a high tower is, by definition, something that can also be seen. Therefore, the ability to understand the situation must be accompanied by a deep consideration of your own role inside it. Understanding the situation and becoming a model of action are, therefore, two interdependent goals.
