I Ching Hexagram 31
The meaning of the hexagram 31 of the I Ching, Influence, depends on the movement of its trigrams. They are mutually opposed because the Lake at the top tends downwards and the Mountain at the bottom is ascending. However, these movements do not not deny each other but productive a very tied relationship. The high Mountain is the unshakable foundation for the Lake which protects it in the heights, and the Lake vivifies the Mountain. We have then the image of a reciprocal influence which depends precisely on the balance of different elements.
Quick guide for interpretation
