Traditional I Ching reading methods

 

In general, reading with sticks is considered more correct than reading with coins. However, every type of reading is part of chance and they differ only in the way they favour concentration.

The method of coins has gained a widespread usage since its introduction in ancient China. Its facility should not be envisaged as a problem since it does not contradict the principle of chance.

We must also remember that there is no method that can guarantee the quality of interpretation: it is to each one to find its own way.
